Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a very respected man around the world. He is the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, whose members call him "Daddy G.O." As is the custom during the countless new year 'crossover' services (held to usher in the new year) in Nigeria's ubiquitous places of worship, the heads of the megachurches usually reel out a list of predictions for the incoming year. Adeboye is no different, and he reeled out a bunch of bollocks, just like he did for last year.
Looking at the so called predictions of this mega charlatan, it is obvious that he, indeed, said nothing. He was simply equivocating, and is no better than psychics, and other fakes who claim to have supernatural abilities, especially when he talked about breakthroughs in medicine and science, and natural disasters. Natural disasters will continue to happen and claim human casualties; prayers will not stop this, and medical and scientific research will continue to advance at the dizzying pace that we know today. Adeboye has one of the largest congregations in Nigeria, and he easily draws crowds in excess of a million people to the annual holy ghost congress of the RCCG. I wonder if any of them has ever paused to critically examine these predictions. Even a glance by an average mind will reveal the parochiality of Adeboye's attempt to let us in on what to expect in the coming year.

What Mr Adeboye churned out at the beginning of this year is nothing more than an educated guess by a man who follows world events; anybody could do this, but would be largely ignored because they do not have Adeboye's clout. He can continue to deceive his congregation within and outside Nigeria, but he doesn't fool me and millions of others around the world who know exactly what he is: a conman of the highest calibre.
