Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), whose 2015 predictions for Nigeria and the world was a load of bullshit has told his congregation that God has a hand in Nigeria's affairs. He was speaking at a special event, titled 'Free Indeed', held at one of his church's branches in Ebute-Metta, Lagos. Here is an excerpt from his homily:
“It is possible for a country to be free, but its
citizens are not. Nigeria has been free for 55 years, but many of us are not
free. If not for God’s intervention, Nigeria would have been in another civil
war. Without His intervention in this land, we would not be experiencing peace.
We should keep praying for His peace to reign."
Nigeria is the most populous country of black people in the world and is known as the 'Giant of Africa', although much of its potential has been squandered by its political leadership. Nigeria ranks low in nearly every development index despite having the largest economy in Africa.
Parts of Nigeria's mainly muslim northern region are currently under siege by the tenacious Boko Haram terrorists, and Adeboye can open his mouth to talk about Nigeria experiencing peace, because he knows his ingenuous listeners gobble up everything he says, even when they are outright falsities. He sees the absence of a second civil war as peace. The Boko Haram insurgency is peace, the lack of education and economic opportunities for Nigeria's restless but enterprising youth is peace, the general insecurity and kidnappings for ransom is peace, and having the highest maternal mortality rate in the world is peace. Congratulations Mr Adeboye! What a peaceful god you serve! You fly in a private jet (you actually own two!) and you live like a king, how could you possibly understand that over 70 percent of Nigerians live below the poverty line?
